Could it be?Posted: April 18, 2013
Sometimes you just don’t realize some things about yourself until a new person comes into your life and points out a few things. A new person in my life recently pointed out that I’m quite obviously an exhibitionist.

Exhibitionism is the act of exposing in a public or semi-public context those parts of one’s body that are not normally exposed – specifically the genitals or buttocksof a man or woman, or the breasts of a woman. The practice may arise from a desire or compulsion to expose themselves in such a manner to groups of friends or acquaintances, or to strangers for their amusement or sexual satisfaction or to shock the bystander
Behaviours for consideration:
I’ve been blogging since 2005. I have written about pretty much every important, or intimate or notable thing about my life I can think of. I do it because writing my stuff makes helps me develop my thoughts and feelings. It gives me a way to connect with a wide array of people and to learn and to grow. Much of this is public writing but a large component is available only to myself or a small group of people.
Less than a year ago, I started doing some nude modeling for life drawing workshops. I took this on as a physical/anxiety challenge. Even though I might not always be HAPPY with my body, I’m definitely not ashamed of it and I always think it is beautiful. This turned out to be something I really love doing because it’s a fun physical thing to do and improve at. I hope to be able to do it for quite some time. I don’t get a rush from the nudity but more from positive feedback on my work. I also like to get critiques so I can improve for the future.
My house has 5 curtains. One on the front door, one on the sliding door at the back (two other curtain-less windows in that room), one in my bathroom, one in the kid’s bedroom, one on one of the 4 windows in my room. The reasoning for this is that I’m right next to the highway. People driving past are going so fast they can’t really check out what’s going on in my house. Also, I’m not body shy so if some person walking their dog want to see me walk from my bedroom to my bathroom, *shrug*. There are not many good vantage points to see into my house. And since I’m only renting, I don’t want to invest in window dressings.
So what do you think? Am I an exhibitionist?
On this day:
In 2012 – I have really come a long way in a year.
In 2011 – “The idea of putting dead animal parts in my mouth no longer repulses me enough to keep me from doing it”
In 2009 – annoying things
In 2008 – we still had snow
In 2007 – colour coded comparisons
In 2006 – allergens
In 2005 – “maybe I have brain parasites”
