Planning out the summer already.

Bobby’s day care provider takes a 5 week holiday in the summer.  Since Brent covered March Break, that means I get 3 straight weeks of Bobby time.  I’ve already been worrying about what we will do for 15 weekdays.  All of the regular playgroups I go to are closed, as are the library programs I’ve attended in the past.

Thanks to a new local blog – Kids in the Capital – I’m starting to get a good list of activities in place (in addition to the stuff I already planned on doing.  Here are all my ideas so far;

-Spend a day on Petrie Island
-Take the bus (first ride) downtown and meet Dad for lunch at his new job (a post on that to come shortly) then spend the afternoon playing at St-Luke’s Park until we are all ready to go home together.
-Rainy day trip to the children’s museum in Hull.
-Rainy day trip to the Natural History museum (possibly bus in to town then ride back with dad again)
-Rainy day trip to the local mall to hang by the amazing water fountain and checkout the free play area.

So that’s 5 days planned… 10 more to go!

On this day:

In 2009 –
In 2008 –
In 2007 – I miss these shoes. So cute but totally DEAD.
In 2006 – oh yeah – the foot fetish guy!
In 2005 – a whole lot about poop!

    i went through this once as well. i’m not sure where you live but i got a lot of mileage out hopping on the oc transp (soooo exciting, especially when they get to ring the bell) and just wander the market, head to the gallery to look at maman, etc etc. we had a blast, it ate up a good chunk of the day.

  5. Great link thanks. This year it looks like I’m on 10 weekdays duty when our daycare is closed. The train station visit is a great idea, our boys love trains so just going in and seeing them a little closer will be exciting.
    We have a museum pass so rainy days will probably include the aviation and sci-tech museums as well.
    Don’t forget you can reserve free family passes to get into the Museum of Civilization (children’s museum) and the Museum of Nature from the library. There is usually a lot of people in the queue so you might want to reserve them sooner than later.
