On Tuesday, I went to meet my coworkers for our Christmas lunch. I brought Bobby because I like to show him off and I had no babysitter and he’s a good dude.
He was asleep when we got there and when he woke up he was totally calm. It was the type of restaurant where you go up to place your order so a coworker held him when I got in line and that’s when the crying started. He got passed around a bit and that didn’t work so I held him while in line and that sort of worked for a bit.
I tried to feed him but he was too distracted by the decor and the people so I asked the staff for some hot water so I could heat the bottle (of breastmilk) I brought for just if this happened. It took 20 MINUTES for the guy to bring it to me so Bobby was getting more and more upset and started freaking the fuck out. He is NOT accustomed to waiting to eat, and why would he be really? By the time the bottle was warm he was too worked up to focus on eating. My food arrived and I had him pack it to go while I tried to calm Bobby down. Finally he relaxed enough to eat but he was still wimpering when he was done so I just decided to go home.
The SECOND we walked out the door he was all smiles and he fell asleep by the time I walked to 100 feet to the car.
TWO
Last night Anne came over to cut my hair and I like it. It’s longer on one side and has fat bangs. Here’s a side photo because I looked like a zombie head-on
Anne is awesome because I told her to do whatever she felt like and it was exactly what I was secretly hoping. When I go in for a trim I think I’ll ask her to do it just a slight more asymmetrical. "More asymmetrical" is such bad grammar! Less symmetrical is a better way to say it but I don’t think it gets my point across as well.

On Saturday I plan on going to the Not Your Grandmother’s Craft Sale and once again, will have no babysitter so Bobby is coming with. I’m trying to figure out the logistics of this. It’s usually crowded so I don’t want to bring a stroller so the carrier would be good but then what do I do with my coat? Do I just carry him in my arms till I get inside, then put him in the carrier and carry around my coat? Or should I just straight up carry him? That could be difficult… Winter makes this so much harder. I’m totally dreading his snowsuit.
On this day:
In 2007 – I went to work without a shirt
In 2006 – I showed you all my pro-wedding songs
In 2005 – Design School Hilarity
Is there any haircut you can’t pull off?

can he hold his head up yet? If he can you should look into one of those baby backpacks. When my mom had my little brother he lived in that for like the first two years of his life. She even coached basketball practice with him on her back.
Yeah he can. I have a mei tai carrier. It’s just that if I put in on at the car, it must go over my coat, then when I get inside I’ll be too hot… etc.

I would carry him in, take off my coat, ask a persona at a table if they wouldn’t mind my hiding my coat under their sales table, then put him in the back pack…oh
and feed him first if you can.
My son used to climb out of the carrier, even before he could crawl, so those things didn’t work for us.
I just wrapped him onto my body with a sarong.
Good call. His legs hang out so I don’t think he would climb out any time soon. I think my mom is coming with me now so she could carry my coat!

my favorite “trick” was to just change the scnenery for a minute. the change in air would distract him for a minute and then we could get him to smile before going back in.

Your hair looks kick ass, but make with alien face on pic!
My Bobby subscribes to the sour&sweet life philosophy. He had to show you how it could be if he wasn’t so great. A little sour now and then helps you appreciate the sweet:)
Demands:I want to see snow suit pictures.
I haven’t actually put him in it yet! I was saving it for when it got to the minus double didgets so I WILL send a photo once I do it.
