What’s Up Duck?

So naughty_bride  has been here all week and went home today and we did some hanging which was AWESOME… I think the funnest night was maybe Halloween.

Also I’m angry with Halloween. We had MAXIMUM 15 kids. I remember when I was a kid the streets were swarming with kids going from house to house. What happened to that? I know a few kids bypassed our house because I was not successful with my last minute pumpkin shopping adventure but STILL!!!

Are people afraid to let their kids go to strangers’ houses? Why don’t they just escort them?

Bobby dressed as a turtle. He only trick or treated family/friend houses because I wanted to show him off and he doesn’t eat candy so real trick or treating would be pointless.

Here is a photo.

We also hung out with Matt and Jess a couple times this week. They got a new kitchen and a new kitten and I’m jealous of both.  I like Jess more and more each time I see her (not that I didn’t like her at first or anything like that) and I’m jealous of her job awesomeness and so I suppose I have a (no longer so secret) platonic girl crush on her.

In exciting/nervous news.  We are going to Burlington Vermont in 2 weeks and to Toronto the week after that and I’m stoked to go but I’m also very nervous for the logistics of going for a 5-ish hour drive with Bobby.  Hopefully we can time it with food/nap to only have to make one stop for feeding him.  I have to find my passport….  Also I’m bringing the stroller and it takes up most of the trunk so that’s interesting isn’t it?

Brent wants me to buy some Clitter….

On this day:

In 2007 – A year later and I’ve only accomplished the first two things on my to-do list… why organize cupboards when you are hoping for an all-new kitchen???
In 2006 – I discovered LOLcats and do the log driver’s waltz
In 2005 – the good old days when I didn’t eat everything I saw

    Bobby the Turtle is adorable…:)
And, just in case it restores your faith in Halloween…we got at least 60 kids. But we do a whole pile of decorations and have every year, so I like to think that’s helped.
Tons of superheroes and witches and princesses…and one zombie (ummm, me).
One day I should grow up.
Good luck on the trip! 🙂

You look great. I love Bobby’s
adorable costume, he’s so healthy lookin’.
We hardly had any trick or treat kids here…hmmm…where did they all go?
Glad to hear you get to travel. When I drove cross country with Hanz, we left at his bedtime and drove while he slept.
    Have a blast…

  11. Very cute! We had a great time with our kids too. Our 1.5 year old kept trying to go inside everyone’s house but since he is so cute, everyone was saying, “sure you can come inside”. 😉
I think it just depends on what the kid situation is in your neighbourhood. We had about 60 kids this year but there are a ton of young families around here.
Good luck with the trip. Any time we drive to Toronto, we tried to aim for nap time during the drive so hopefully that will work well for you as well. Yeah, strollers suck for trunk space. It gets a bit better when they are old enough to sit in an umbrella stroller which take up much less space.

This was our first Halloween in Orleans and we,too, were disappointed with the turnout. We definitely had less than 20 kids visit our house.
By the end, we gave super-cute and tiny visitors extra candy (judging from the picture above, your son would have been given an obscene amount!).
