On my way to knowing enough Italian to travel to Italy

Someone lent me a “learn Italian in a day” CD which I have been listening to int he car. I haven’t made it all the way through yet but I’ve gone through the first half twice now.

I can count to 9 (I can’t remember 10-12)
I can ask where things are such as the bus stop or any other thing I might know how to say in Italian like “Where is the wine?”
I know how to say I don’t want meat, fish or poultry.
I know how to ask the price and select things I want from a clerk.
I know how to ask for directions, and for how long it will take to get there. I also know how to listen for key words when receiving the directions.
I know how to say I want to get to a certain place using certain transportation.
I know polite things like “Good day” “Excuse me” “Please” “Thank you” “My name is” “How are you?” “Very good” etc

So far I’m doing pretty well! Just over two weeks to go!

I also picked up luggage tags and locks yesterday with leaves me with insoles and a small notebook on my ‘to buy’ list. Do they let you bring pens/pencils on planes? Because I saw this movie once where Joe Pesci killed a guy with a pen and maybe they think I might do that. I wouldn’t. I just want to draw and write while I’m on the plane.

In 2007 – Weight loss garbage
In 2006 – Could be interesting, if you actually have access to read it.
In 2005 – I randomly decided to draw on the wall in the hallway of our apartment

Hahahahahahaha…I imagined you flinching at the sight of every pen when I read that. The movie was Casino, and it was certainly a powerful scene.

The weird thing is that later on yesterday, Brent and I were watching Family Guy and they did a spoof of the exact scene.
So that plus the streetlight thing plus the “Who’s the Boss” thing I wrote about a while back but can’t remember how I tagged so I won’t even bother looking for it make me think that I have superpowers…other than making milk that is.
