Stress is annoying. Stop being stressed people! It’s counter-productive!

I very rarely get stressed out by life and it’s happenings.  I think my #1 stressor, is Brent’s reaction to things that stress him out.  I just can’t deal with it, yet I don’t think I should bring it up until he’s over the stress.

Why is it that when there is mutual love between people, they feel like it’s ok to bombard each other with their most annoying qualities?  I get that people need to vent, etc, but I don’t get how people who do this are surprised or confused when the people they do this with/to get exhausted by it.  Especially when it’s the first interation they have in a day.  Yeah they vented and got over it, but now the OTHER person is in a shitty mood because the first person was unable to greet them with any form of being pleasant.

I see make-up sex in the near future…
But seriously, don’t sweat it. I’m usually on the bombardment side and I feel so, so guilty AFTERwards for taking my aggression out on the person I love. I’m sure Brent will feel bad and buy you ice cream or something later on tonight.
So look forward to that. And the aforementioned make-up sex. And don’t let his issues ruin your day. Happiness is just a state of mind.

Oh we’re not fighting or anything.. He’s just super-stressed about the dog situation (it’s looking worse BTW – he just called me and is totally freaking out but for some reason is DRVING AROUND running errands).
I think we just deal with it differently. He worries about all the things that MIGHT happen, and I wait to see what happens and deal with it when it arrives. So I just get annoyed when he asks me for the millionth time what I think MIGHT happen. I DON’T FUCKING KNOW. I hate speculating about stuff, it’s such a waste of energy because 99% of the time you are wrong anyway.

  4. I am usually the venter, but I see your side. I seriously make an effort to have general “how was your day?” chat before lunging into a tirade. Maybe at a non-stressful time for Brent you could bring it up? I can tell when Ryan is annoyed by going over and over the same situation. I find that I keep doing it because his answers are not satisfying to me, or I feel that his level of anger/stress is not the same as mine, so I have to keep convincing him.
I am also the type of person who goes over and over the “what ifs?”. I find it really helpful when Ryan actually answers them “what if Tyrone needs surgery?” Answer “We will deal with it, support him and make it through. Yes it will be hard, but no worries we are in this together”.
You are to zen for the rest of us:)

      I totally see your point.
It’s more the “Do you think he has (insert something here)”? And I personally don’t feel comfortable answering those kinds of things because I’m not a doctor and I don’t want him to use my assumptions to soothe his worry when there is absolutely no reason I could possibly be correct.
Like if I say “I think he’ll be fine if we just let him sleep” and he’s NOT fine, then somehow it becomes my fault (not that Brent’s even blamed me for anything, this is just my own reasoning).

      • Yeah, that is tough. I think this situation is a bit more sever then say work or family problems. He probably needs to just get the thoughts out of him, you know?
Honestly, There really wouldn’t be anything anyone could say or do to make me not worry about something like this. When Willy had his throw up issue (and it was only a couple of days) I was crying non-stop. You just need to wait it out. Make him comfort food and give him lots of hugs.
