Bobby 2 years 5 months

What a month!  A lot of things have been going on.

Halloween: I don’t have photos because the ones I took on my old phone got lost when it died 😦 My mom took some but hasn’t sent them to me.  He wore the same costume as last year (Giraffe).  Brent and my mom took him out door to door while I stayed home to give out candy. We practiced at home first so he would know what to do. The day before I would hide in the bathroom and he would knock and say trick or treat with a bag held out. It was so cute. Then he did our house first and I gave him a candy to get him started.

When he got back he was so excited about his bag of candies. We dumped them out on the floor. Brent took away the ‘bad’ ones and Bobby sorted through his, asking what each was called.  Every night after successfully eating his supper he has been allowed to choose one treat from his bag. He dumps them all out. Names them all and then chooses Smarties (unless there were none left, then it was "kitty cat")

The daily inventory

Moving: We did a lot of prep to make this move as easy on Bobby as possible.  We got him a new Big Boy Bed and set it up at the new place and had everything else set up in his room weeks before we moved in. Luckily we were able to do this. If we had to do it all in one or two days at the same time as the move… yikes.  He was getting irritable and cranky the last 2 weeks before moving though. He would never want to come home from daycare and was upset that a lot of his things were packed away. We tried to keep as much of his stuff available as possible but there’s only so much you can do.

Since moving, he hasn’t looked back. He LOVES his room and has become a champ at sleeping the whole night in his room. Before hand he would ALWAYS wake up around 4 ish and get into our bed. He is always excited about going to "Our New House". He has more space to play. An actual playroom for fun times and a bedroom for calm time. He likes that there are half empty boxes to explore and that he can help his Daddy tape and paint the house. He hasn’t said anyting about our old house. He took it way better than Brent and I have.

Adapting to the fact that we didn’t have a table:
Our kitchen table, for now.

Growing: Since we moved, Bobby had a huge 3 day growth spurt. I swear he grew 2 inches. I measured him on Halloween and I have to get around to measuring him again. He’s visibly taller than the railing now and he was shorter when we moved in 2 weeks ago.

He’s also developing a bit more. He plays pretend a lot more and can entertain himself for longer stretches of time.  He’s becoming more independant. He used to only move about the house when someone was with him but now he goes off to different areas on his own to do his thing.

Tea Time with Tyrone
Tea time

He LOVES music school and sings the songs and pretend-plays the instruments all the time. They are constantly stuck in my head now.

He has even started inventing his own songs about things which is just SO adorable.

We recently discovered that the local grocery store has mini shopping carts. It is so awesome. Bobby loves driving it around and putting everything in. He also goes to "park it" with the other ones when we are done.
